Surface Printing: This involves using a printing press to print directly onto the surface of standard-size white stand-up pouches in stock. This significantly reduces customization costs. However, the drawback is obvious: since the printing is applied directly to the finished product’s surface, it creates a very slight texture that feels slightly uneven to the touch. If the pouch is crumpled or frequently folded, the printed design may peel off.
Inner-side printing: This is the most widely used method on the market and offers the most reliable print quality. The printing is completed before the lamination process, and a transparent protective film is applied to the outer layer, which better protects the printed layer without affecting the visual appearance.
White Stand-Up Pouch Materials and Thicknesses
For white stand-up pouches, we typically recommend a PET (outer layer)/AL (barrier layer)/PE (inner layer) structure, which offers excellent product protection while ensuring better cost control.
Sante also supports material customization, depending on your product and usage environment. For example, for heavy loads and high-end food products, a combination of PET/AL/NY/PE can be used. The AL aluminum foil layer provides high barrier properties, while the NY material offers tensile strength.
For transparency, a combination of PET/PE can be used. Both materials are translucent, allowing users to fully see the internal product.
MOPP/VMPET/PE offers a matte finish and high barrier properties, with dozens of material combinations available to meet the needs of various products and environments.
White Stand-Up Pouch Thickness is also very important. The commonly used thickness in the market is 120 micrometers (4.72 mil / 0.12 mm), while common fast-moving consumer goods only require 90-120 micrometers (3.54–4.72 mil / 0.09–0.12 mm). Coffee beans and tea are generally 120-160 micrometers (4.72–6.30 mil / 0.12–0.16 mm), while larger items such as pet food use 140-200 micrometers (5.51–7.87 mil / 0.14–0.20 mm).
